Daily Duties at Walgreens:
Staff Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager/Certified Immunizer I provided top of the line Patient care while furthering my professional knowledge base in the retail pharmacy world. Daily tasks included but were not limited to the following: Met and greeted patients as they presented new, refill, and transfer prescriptions. Counseled patients on medication therapy, disease states, and over the counter medication selection and usage. Scanned, typed, and verified prescriptions and data entry of prescriptions for correctness. Filled prescriptions with correct medications pursuant to physician’s orders. Maintained an open line of communication with local physician’s offices to better assist patients in meeting their prescription needs. Maintained adequate inventory levels through order management to not only fill prescription orders but to also keep the pharmacy profitable. Maintained adequate staff scheduling pursuant to pharmacy needs and budget. Monthly medication returns of out dated medication to pharmacy warehouse, vendors, and the DEA. Weekly returns to vendors of medications ordered in error thus keeping costs of pharmacy operations down. Maintained pharmacy cleanliness and appearance. Gave daily flu, H1N1, and pneumonia vaccines and maintained all records accordingly Participated in numerous flu shot clinics throughout the valley. Worked with baker cells, Yuyama, and Parata filling machines. Screened and interviewed applicants for technician positions. Participated in job fairs as a company representative. I was a preceptor for USN. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Kept pharmacy operating according to the rules and regulations set forth by the NV State Board of Pharmacy.
