Daily Duties at Va Department Of Correctional Education:

At different times my responsibilities included combinations of: *Writing, delivering, and revising a DOE-approved Middle School and High School Curricula; *Providing staff development for administrators and instructors in best practices in instruction; *To provide direction and coordination for Media Center Specialists; *To provide direction and coordination for Transition Specialists; *To provide direction and coordination for Guidance Counselors; *To establish and implement a protocol for textbook and instructional materials' selection, purchase, distribution, and implementation into the DCE curricula; *To research, write/submit RFPs, administer and supervise distribution of funds to the corresponding DCE programs. *To supervise the implementation of the curriculum and instructional practices across all DCE Juvenile facilities. *To keep current with best practices for all of the above; *To attend staff development sessions as needed to meet the above mentioned responsibilities.
