Daily Duties at Sitel Operating Corp:
Installed and maintained operating system software and 3rd party products for z/OS, z/VSE and z/VM systems while also monitoring and maintaining user access to all mainframe systems. Resolved any processing issues with mainframe applications providing 24x7 support. Assisted programming staff and production control with implementation of file transfers to and from the mainframe. Assisted programmers with system issues and provided coding recommendations. Coded COBOL and Assembler programs to convert data to required formats and provide functions not readily available with systems utilities. Functioned as Disaster Recovery Coordinator successfully restoring all mainframe systems several times at recovery sites run by IBM and SunGard. Upgraded mainframe hardware to the latest version of IBM’s suite of products, which reduced monthly maintenance costs, producing a significant ROI. Improved production processing times and greatly reduced job reruns by implementing virtual tape processing. Changed user access to online systems by using TCPIP instead of utilizing older technologies.
