Daily Duties at Emd Serono Research Institute:

Redefine the research efforts for a discovery group and hire 6 new post-doctoral scientists to fill the key technology roles and 6 new technologists to work within a highly innovative and challenging project. In order to complete this effort I had to assemble a plan to create a new industry standard for pharmaceutical and diagnostic products serving our therapeutic industry and establish key academic and clinical collaborations to achieve the goal. Funding for this effort was achieved through a competitive grant-based mechanism available within Serono Research. Simultaneously led a group of scientists to define new molecular entities that could reprogram immune cells at invading embryo implantation sites to permit viable embryo invasion, and minimize maternal rejection of the fetal allograft.
