Responsibilities include investigation and evaluation of liability coverage, injuries and damages. Obtain police reports, copies of insurance policies and medical/hospital reports. Interview witnesses; take recorded statements of insured and claimants. Evaluates and prepare claim files for litigation. Reviews bodily injury suits and works closely with attorneys on claim settlements. Negotiate and settle claims within prescribed limits and submits recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal settlement authority. Supervise and maintain company diary system with an average caseload of 300 claims. Supervise and maintain relationships with corresponding vendors.
