Daily Duties at Omnicare:
Directed pharmacy technicians and other support personnel in the execution of dispensing functions in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines. Advised healthcare professionals and patients on compounded and dispensed prescribed medications. Inspected all work done by pharmacy technicians prior to dispensing medications. Researched discrepancies and monitored current trends affecting controlled substances. Assessed medication orders to guarantee patient receives correct drug, dose, route, frequency, and monitoring. Specified proper storage, protection, and preservation of therapeutic agents in accordance with standards of the U.S.P. and the National Formulary.
