Daily Duties at Directive 63, Inc. (D.63):
Principle Information Security — IT technical lead for US Department of Justice – Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in support of the Tactical Operations Support Center (TOSC - a covert facility offsite). Primary work location was at the Engineering Research Facility (ERF) in Quantico, VA. Supported a diverse set of IT systems and technologies to evaluate and report on the security posture of IT systems fielded or being developed. Evaluate system hardware, system software applications, operating systems, communications interfaces, protocols, and data exchanges to determine the level of compliance to security controls and requirements established by Federal and Agency requirements including FIPS, NIST, DOT and DOD requirements. Report security posture and assess vulnerability risk of IT systems under evaluation and related systems within classified/unclassified environments. Interpret policy, evaluate architectural designs, and perform security and network analyses on IT configurations to conduct security evaluations for NAS, mission support and administrative information systems, business systems, and network infrastructures. Develop final contract deliverables including Physical Security, Risk Assessment Reports, Security Test Plans/Test Reports, Enterprise Security scan of IT system, and associated material to document the security posture and make recommendations to mitigate risks. Oversee and review the work of other security team members work activities and products prior to delivery for Government review and approval.
