Implemented disease models of Parkinsonian condition. Modeled excitability, synchrony, and input-output gain relations using Hodgkin-Huxley equations. Specific projects are: - Develop correlation methods to differentiate signal from noise in recordings of non-stationary time series. - Develop C++ codes to simulate networks of brain neurons modeling Parkinson's disease models. - Record spiking activity of rat brain slices, and analyze using statistical methods. - Develop an overall strategy to study synchronization of neurons using weakly coupled oscillator theory. Utilized analytical, computational and statistical methods extensively. Employed C++ coding with object oriented programming. Codes were also developed using Matlab and Mathematica. Carried out t-test, F-test, chi-squared tests, survival analysis, ANOVA, ARIMA, Fourier, wavelet transforms, and time-delay embedding techniques on large neuronal data sets. Extensively used SAS, Matlab and R for statistical analysis. Collaboratively worked with other scientists.
