Daily Duties at Tuskegee University:
Managed the overall daily operations of the department of purchasing and compliance, responsible for managing assigned staff and ensuring compliance with all laws, rules and regulation. Personally direct all phases of this prominent university’s procurement functions including oversight of a $7.0M annual operations budget and more than $80M in annual procurements. Developed request for proposals (RFP’s) and managed the process. • Provide leadership and mentoring for multiple direct-report department managers and more than 250 indirect employees spanning operations for Housing, Bookstore, Purchasing, Cafeteria, Mail Room and Sporting Events; recruit, train, and hire new employees. I resolved staff issues and made hiring/termination decisions or recommendations. Evaluated bids negotiated and oversaw contract compliance
