Daily Duties at Imani Medical Clinic:
-Planned and executed quarterly training programs for 80-100 clinic volunteers -Planned all clinic programs, fundraisers, and outreach events independently and as part of Board of Directors to achieve clinic objectives -Community needs and health assessment -Advocacy -Report preparation for stakeholders -Strategic planning -Interviewing and selection of clinic personnel -Extensive interaction with patients, medical staff, and community members -Experience in taking vitals, performing lab tests for pregnancy, STIs, and blood glucose, charting, triaging, and data entry Health Education Counselor -Successful completion of 9-week IHEOP training course taught by UCDavis medical students. -Extensive knowledge about diabetes, obesity, hypertension, cholesterol, smoking, weight management, and nutrition. -Designed treatment plan and counseled patients regularly on non-invasive methods of managing diabetes, hypertension, and obesity through nutrition and physical activity. -Corresponded with clinic preceptors on patient’s treatment and progress -SOAP note evaluation and documentation style -Conducted health training classes
