Daily Duties at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard And Imf:
•Led Corporate Support Resource Team (CSRT) for all shipyards; supervised loaning and borrowing of engineers and technicians within enterprise. •Assisted in deployment of CSRT take-down strategy, employing technical system requirements while supporting needs of project management. •Headed development of program evaluation for Engineering & Planning Department (EPD), conducting organizational and procedural analysis, evaluating organizational changes, and reporting on merit of recommendations; ensured adherence to Government Performance Review Act. •Functioned as Branch Head for Workforce Forecasting and Resource Development. •Directed recruitment and hiring events, field-recruiter training, site visitations, job offers, and new hire in-processing. •Forecasted and estimated resource planning requirements; prepared programmatic reports for corporate presentations and briefings. •Executed EPD fiscal year resource plan and ensured related goals were realistic. •Pioneered recruiting model for engineering, which consisted of recruiter training, hiring summits, recruiting events, and interview techniques, site visits for potential candidates, job offers, and in-processing procedures for 150+ engineers each recruitment season. Model was adopted by corporate and is now standard used throughout Naval Sea Systems Command. •Developed, maintained, and monitored integrated reporting systems affecting resource programs throughout PSNS with functions and operations that were interrelated. •Managed scheduling, tracking, and administration of all courses offered in department. Developed work control fundamentals to project managers and team members prior to ship arrival; fundamentals course included initial and re-qualification standards, complete training modules, and final examinations. •Played major role in negotiating shipyard employee contract with management within 3 months, saving estimated $1M in overhead capital.
