Daily Duties at Nuwc Keyport Division:

•Oversee command mandatory training and employee certification in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level supervisory training, apprentice program training, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) training, off-sight trades training, and all curriculum development processes for web-based distant learning, and in-class instruction for over 1,900 employees. •Maintain an average command training budget of $1.1M per fiscal year. •Create gap analysis and training matrix reports, presenting to the command Board of Directors on individual department progress and employee required certifications status. •Oversee course curriculum development and revision for New Employee Orientation and Exit Employee debriefings. •Directly supervise the command training office, instructors and department training coordinators, meeting weekly to discuss training revisions, progress, recent developments, and command direction. •Oversee the command quarterly training newsletter which provides the workforce with upcoming training events, highlights recent certification graduates, and links external training opportunities. •Lead the Develop and Retention Integrated Business Operation Team that is directly responsible for on-line Individual Training Plans via the Workforce Development Learning Management System. •Lead the Leadership Development Team in the creation of future leader training to include On the Job Training, classroom instruction and web-based distant learning modules. •Maintain oversight of Program Management concepts, policies, procedures, and the conduct of NUWC Keyport Workforce Services relying on Lean Six Sigma (LSS) processes and principles. •Develop communities of practice for improving knowledge sharing, collaboration and core competency development. Manage federal personnel systems and training programs, including Merit Systems Principles, EEO and labor relations. •Participate in strategic and business planning sessions with senior leaders to assist and lend expertise in business practice improvements across the command. •Establish policies, regulations, initiatives and directives based on NWC Council meetings and collaborative efforts. Participant and champion Lean Six Sigma processes and events as related to Workforce Service Division Programs, Projects and oversight.
