Daily Duties at U. S. Pipe And Foundry:

I was responsible for reading blueprints and preparing a material cost estimate on ductile iron pipe for a particular job. Most jobs were wastewater treatment plants, city sewer improvements, pipelines, and other water systems. I was charged with giving a true cost with profitability and different scenarios built into my quote. Our bid department would then take my quote and bid the job. I coordinated with our plant on production issues; the salesmen on the bid process; and the engineering department on the cost savings and profitability of using various scenarios to accomplish the given task per specifications
