Daily Duties at Shire Pharmaceuticals:

• Oversees Engineering and Maintenance (E&M) and the Calibration Program • Reviews Change Controls for compliance • Writes and reviews planned deviations where applicable • Ensures E&M and calibration documentation is correct and properly filed • Writes, revises, and reviews E&M and calibration departmental standard operating procedures • Reviews specifications for calibration and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to determine criticality of a device and assures test requirements meet processing capacities • Ensures the periodic maintenance program complies with current SOP’s • Trends data to evaluate frequency of preventative maintenance and calibration schedules • Reviews and investigates non-conformances as they relate to E&M and calibration • Provides technical assistance to validation and instrumentation technicians • Familiar with and a User of the SAP database for production • Uses the calibration database to audit instruments and documentation for compliance to SOP’s and cGMP’s • Audits Blue Mountain calibration management software to ensure all calibrations activities are tracked, documented and performed on time • Reviews Quality Notifications (QN’s) pertaining to the Engineering and Maintenance Departments
