My role in this position as described was to teach technical training classes and design technical training classes to fit the needs of associates. My responsibilities actually included instructing technical training classes and personal development classes, consulting with all operations departments to determine their training needs and develop training classes and programs to meet those needs, supervised an assistant, launched an online training system and maintained it to fit the needs of all associates, designed and maintained a computer lab, marketed our training programs to each department through different types of communication and open house events to promote our services, and created custom databases and spreadsheets as requested by departments and my department Manager, supervised support staff and training assistant, helped associates with everyday troubleshooting on their workstations. I worked for a Superintendent. My team was split across two offices. We had two technical training specialists and two personal development specialists, along with two training assistants in each location, a support staff employee in each location, and in the location I was in, the Superintendent had his personal secretary.

What they like about State Farm Insurance:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
