State Farm Insurance Work Values

Daily Duties at State Farm Insurance:

In this role, I was expected to handle automobile injury claims from personal lines insurance which included all handling from within the office only over the telephone, completing liability and injury investigations, evaluating injury claims, settling injury claims, handling claims into litigation when applicable. Due to my training background, I was asked to train new employees and on many occasions, teach classes in the office to all associates as part of the continuing education efforts. I also assisted with computer problems, printer issues, and helped create computer aides to streamline our job and make workflows quicker and easier. I actually handled all aspects of automobile injury claims during this time, which included liability investigations, property damage evaluations, injury evaluations, injury negotiations, handling of litigation due to injury claims which did not settle, meeting with insureds and claimants, dealing with vendors, company attorneys and outside attorneys, managing expenses, training new claim representatives, and training fellow associates computer use and some claims subjects. Additionally, I created a new position called Arbitration Specialist. I was charged with handling and responding to any Intercompany Arbitrations filed on any case that came into our office. That involved becoming familiar with the new file, requesting any new investigation necessary to properly defend our position on the case, then writing an explanation of our investigation and the materials in our file along with how those items helped us form our conclusion. Then I prepared our necessary evidence to be sent along with my response. I also worked as a field representative during this time which required that I go to accident scenes and photo the area, draw diagrams of the area, at times I would canvass the area for witnesses, I made Small Claims Court appearances with insureds, inspected vehicles and other damaged property such as homes or buildings, and made personal contact to witnesses and other parties when necessary. I worked for a Team Manager and we had six team members, including myself. All of the team members were Claim Representatives.
