Daily Duties at Intermountain Home Care:

I worked in many capacities within the Home Care division at Intermountain Health Care. I worked as a Home Health Nurse, admitting and caring for patients receiving home health services. I also worked in a hospital based infusion clinic and placed PICC for home patients and for patients in the hospital. In 1999 I was promoted to the Infusion Nurse Manager at IHC's Home Infusion Pharmacy. I was instrumental in many projects, including the start up of a Home Bone Marrow unit, outpatient infusion clinic, training and managing home health PICC line nurses. I also set up a Infusion Intake and reimbursement. Over five years my department was able to decrease Medicare write offs from 3 millions dollars to 3 hundred thousand dollars. I did this by stream lining the infusion intake process. I was also over the education not only for the nurses under my direct care, but also home health nurses throughout the IHC system.

What they like about Intermountain Home Care:

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
