Health Care District Work Values

Daily Duties at Health Care District :

 Accepts credit card payments over the phone utilizing a web based software application.  Responds to and assists members concerning their bill and payments.  Prepares and deposits checks received by mail in a timely manner.  Inputs payments into the computer system as received.  Posts payments into the system within the established timeframe.  Processes refunds to members.  Balances receipt reports in a timely manner.  Maintains and files all appropriate payment documentation daily.  Contacts members on returned checks as required.  Process monthly billing.  Accurately documents customer inquiries for the purpose of maintaining the customer service database and to coordinate information with other departments.  Maintains knowledge of benefit plans for all District and Healthy Palm Beaches’ lines of business. Reviews pilot and medical reports for accuracy and completeness.  Collects patient financial, medical and demographic data.  Enters patient financial, medical and demographic data into billing system and posts charges.  Processes billing for Medicare, Medicaid and third party insurance.  Provides third-party payers with appropriate documentation for billing.  Reviews bills for services rendered to ensure accuracy of insurance claims before billing.  Transmits claims to appropriate insurer.  Submits corrected claims due to credit balances.  Performs billing month-end close.  Performs routine account analysis and audits accounts to determine appropriate action required.  Verify accuracy of billing data and revise errors.  Interact with staff, clients, payer and Agencies to answer questions, obtain information, and resolve issues.  Monitor aging reports and take such steps as necessary to guarantee payment of claims.  Participate in the training of new staff members
