Daily Duties at Time Warner Cable:

Manage, Supervise and Mentor a staff of two managers and twenty test, senior, principal engineers in Quality Assurance. Establish individual and team goals including yearly performance reviews. Apply Quality Assurance 'Best Practices' in the testing of Network hardware and software, DOCSIS CPE and Systems applications such as WEB applications for the end user. Develop Test Plans and Test Strategies from IEEE, Cable Labs, WiFi Alliance standards and ‘Acceptance Test Plans, (ATP’s). Refine Test Plans thru the ‘Continuous Improvement Process’. Complete Test Plan Development Reviews and Conducted Root Cause Analysis, I.e. Release Notes identifying known defects and their severity to determine the impact of the defects both hardware and software and affect if put into production. Created standards and documentation for all products under test including release notes, software, vendor RA's which were archived for daily access in a file/folder structure from introduction of product to ‘End of Life’, ‘EOL’, using an application called Visual SourceSafe, (VSS), that resided on redundant servers. Develop ‘QA Exit Criteria/Test Report’, for defect review by stakeholders. Develop standards and processes for network lab architecture as well as production in MS Visio, (also stored in VSS), as well as managing lab inventory via ‘Granite’ for all network equipment insuring all equipment was at the latest hardware and software versions as deployed in production. Build teamwork across multiple organizations within the company to eliminate barriers/communications gaps, create a stronger cross-functional team leading to a more thorough understanding of product requirements and functional specifications, which allowed Quality Assurance to develop more comprehensive test plans to increase test coverage. Member of the 'Asset Life Management' committee for DOCSIS CPE due to the development of an extensive DOCSIS CPE database for each approved device, which identified compliance to Time Warner Cable Standards and Services offered, and identified which devices could support these services such a speed increases for which a separate ‘Performance Test Environment’ was created for testing and publishing these results for selling higher bandwidth tiers to customers, (Additional revenue generation). This database was updated weekly, and used my TWC Procurement for purchasing and retiring CPE, and was considered the ‘Holy Grail’ for DOCSIS CPE Data. Assist in development of contract content for; Cost, Service Level Agreements, Warranty and Performance of product with Legal and Business Affairs including the authoring and review of RFP’s. Manage annual budget assigned for new equipment and test tool purchases. Establish project schedules for each new initiative from the final approved the 'Plan of Record' for the year. Reprioritize projects when required based upon the 'Business Need’.
