Daily Duties at Wells Fargo Bank:

The Fraud & Authentication Team was a newly created team under Wells Fargo Customer Connection (call center). I developed the fraud program along with the processes and procedures for the department. I was responsible for performing risk assessments and providing support to the Credit Card, Retail banking and Customer Correspondence groups within the call center. Call Centers were located throughout the US, for a total of 18 locations and handle over 20 million calls a month. The team's goal was to reduce fraud losses and implement solutions that minimize the risk to the company. In addition, we were responsible for the development and implementation of authentication standards used throughout the call centers to reduce the risk of account takeover. Prepared management reporting and performed analysis on losses to determine fraud trends. As a risk consultant, we always had many projects going on at the same time, as well as, handling business requests (such as reviewing and providing feedback on processes/procedures), answering general risk/compliance questions, analyzing data or preparing reports on demand. Responsibilities included: Ensuring compliance with operational/compliance program requirements Determining adequacy of policies/procedures/controls and ensuring compliance with corporate policies as well as regulations. Facilitating and participating in cross-functional projects/meetings as a risk SME. Developing and enhancing processes/procedures, including systemic enhancements. Creating and maintaining sharepoint site. Gathering information from various sources and preparing management reporting. Establishing partnerships across the organization to meet objectives.

What they like about Wells Fargo Bank:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
