Daily Duties at Third Judicial District Court:

• Responsible for directing, supervising, planning, organizing, and managing the staff responsible for budget/finance/accounting, human resources, procurement, automation, facilities, and operations. • Directed, developed, negotiated, presented, implemented and managed the court’s $7.1m line-item program budget, including writing budget narratives and justifications, developing performance standards, projecting revenues, and justifying, explaining, and presenting the court’s proposed budget (to the Board of Supervisors). • Responsible for leadership, planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and evaluating the Human resources staff and their activities that support 91 positions. • Selected and recommended candidates for positions taking into consideration skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. • Selected and recommended candidates for positions taking into consideration skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. • Exercised supervisory responsibilities over administrators, managers, and directors. • Recruited, selected, appointed, evaluated, and counseled staff; conducted disciplinary actions and managed employee grievances. • Oversaw personnel administration functions to support a staffing component in excess of 91 positions, such as conducting position reclassification studies, staff reorganizations, recommending staffing levels, defining position duties and responsibilities, creating training and staff development programs, and performing payroll and benefit duties; developed personnel policies and procedures; and prepared requisite documentation and paperwork. • Collective bargaining and contract administration for classified employees. • Support, monitor, and routinely report diversity and equity awareness efforts, and other activities related to a comprehensive Human Resources • Liaison with legal and regulatory agencies. • Acquired and managed grant-funds. • Oversaw and directed the delivery of automation services. • Developed goals and objectives that integrated organizational objectives; • Established, revised, and reviewed policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment; • Promoted team building, implemented quality improvements in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements • Advised staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management. • Drafted, negotiated, executed, and managed contracts. • Served as secretariat to the executive committee. • Formulated department policies and planned and directed their implementation • Planned, coordinated and oversaw capital projects and facilities, including acquiring and upgrading office space; assessing and recommending space needs; planning and coordinating staff relocations.
