Daily Duties at Noranda Aluminum :
Supervise production personnel in the production of anodes which is used in the manufacturing of processed aluminum in the foundry at various grades. Train personnel in the proper operation of various types of equipment. Formulate PowerPoint presentation for justification purposes for proposals on acquiring new and upgraded equipment. Generate work orders and order supplies in order to maintain the operational effectiveness of production equipment. Maintain employee time cards and schedule employee workdays. Maintain schedule for (4) separate shifts and adjust personnel to properly maintain the adequate manpower to support (4) shift schedule. Conduct required safety training for designated areas as well as generalized safety training. Using weekly manufacturing schedule and daily priorities, assign tasks and assignments to hourly manufacturing operators. Monitor work to ensure proper completion. Train hourly employees to safely perform any assigned tasks, monitor work, provide feedback, investigate accidents, identify unsafe aspects, and participate in development of corrective action. Enforce company policies and procedures through the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Oversee Step 1 of the Grievance Process. Monitor, adjust, and/or identify need for repair of equipment in assigned segment of the manufacturing process. Coordinate with Maintenance Department to minimize impact on operations. Responsible for accurate production and time reports and for the control of manhours and material usage, monitoring actual vs. planned. Assure established quality standards are met or exceeded. Identify improvements in process. Explore CORE savings projects and ideas. Complete and track work order documentation from time of production until loaded on customers truck with bill of ladings. Ensure maintenance department functions are being accomplished in a timely and professional manner.
