Daily Duties at Hughes Network Systems:

Provided technical oversight for three segments of work assignments: 1) Led the development, integration and testing of embedded software for a re-design of the Hughes Remote VSAT Ground Terminal. Provided guidance and training for junior engineers involved with the project. Established and managed the lab environment; determined, ordered and set up test equipment such as logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, O-scopes, power supplies, RF radios, source code debuggers, satellite simulators, RF modems for the development and testing. 2) Designed, developed, integrated and tested the embedded TCP/IP, Command/Response software for the Hughes DirecWay VoIP Remote Terminal. 3) Spearheaded the integration and test of embedded software for the Hughes Satellite Telephony Remote Terminal for the Hughes Telephony Earth Station (TES). Developed, maintained, and tested Wireless Remote Telephony Terminal and System Software, including Host Port Interface for TI DSP. Established and managed the lab environment for a team of 10 software and hardware developers; selected, ordered and set up test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, RF radios, PCs, satellite simulators, cabling, and networking for the development/testing. Performed RF/IF system level troubleshooting using spectrum analyzer.
