Daily Duties at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories:
For 12 weeks I developed software in Java and Python on a Windows NT kernel. Focus was on development of a user interface for an application that would link and iPod to an in-car entertainment system and respond in synchronization to a speech-recognition program. Debugged a commercial-grade natural language processing engine in Eclipse. Repeatedly modified the application user interface and conducted controlled experiments designed to measure the program's ease of use. Collated and analyzed data with the help of Python scripting. Worked in an open office environment which encouraged collaboration among the engineers in a casual setting.
