Daily Duties at Newmont Mining:

I supervised Longhole Drillers maintain QA/QC of drill design, and production. Supervise up to 17 miners conducting teleremote, and remote stope mucking with 2yd and 4yd LHD. Supervise miners backfilling stopes with the mandated recipes of CRF or rock fill, and sampling as the engineered plan requires. I supervise the drill and blast crew in the performance of their tasks. I also supervise Jumbo operators, Quasar operators, Sill miners working in jackleg headings, and verify line and grade to design in waste and development headings. I complete daily heading inspections as required documenting daily progress as per the mining plan. I respond to all incidents and complete thorough investigations, and forward them to my superiors in a timely manner. I complete daily heading inspections of all work areas and review all employees’ 5 point inspection cards correct all hazards noted or schedule corrective action as needed if not immediately protected. I communicate daily with the Production General Foreman in a check do review meeting focusing on safety, production and the mine plan. I hold a MSHA blue card for both surface and underground as an instructor. I also am a reserve deputy for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department. I have been a volunteer on the Search and Rescue Unit in Winnemucca since it was started 5 years ago.
