Daily Duties at Dmc Mining Services:
I supervise Jumbo operators, Bolter operators, up to 14 sill miners working in Ore/ Waste headings, and verify line and grade to design in development headings. I complete daily heading inspections as required documenting daily progress as per the mining plan. I complete the daily time sheets for payroll, and also to show allocation of manpower and equipment to the proper cost center. These documents are reviewed for the company to be paid by the Barrick Company Representative. These documents also reflect the daily footage and consumables charged to the company, and work completed in a 12 Hr. day. I respond to all incidents and complete thorough investigations, and forward them to my superiors in a timely manner. I complete daily heading inspections of all work areas and review all employees’ 5 point inspection cards correct all hazards noted or schedule corrective action as needed if not immediately protected. I communicate daily with the Project Superintendent focusing on safety, production and the mine plan. When I am not running a crew I work as a member of the mining crew. I operate 20 ton mine haulage trucks, remix trucks, forklifts, 6 yd JCI loader, shotcrete,spraymech trucks. I also nip for the bolters, Jumbos, assist in loading, tying in and shooting sill rounds, and any other duties assigned to complete the daily mining plan. I hold a MSHA blue card for both surface and underground as an instructor. I also am a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department. I have been a volunteer on the Search and Rescue Unit in Winnemucca since it was started 5 years ago.
