Daily Duties at Kellogg Brown & Root (Kbr):

After completing a three-year project for KBR (then Brown & Root Vickers) as the on-site (Moscow-based) project manager providing British Ministry of Defense nuclear warhead carrying trucks for the Russian military under the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (START 1), I was invited to join the Houston, TX office as a subject matter expert on all Russian business requirements and activities. KBR was beginning the pursuit of a contract to dismantle silos and missiles within the Siberian tundra and I was asked to write the management volume of the proposal. Following serious attrition rates suffered by the company, a number of senior proposal managers left the company. I was promoted to a position entitled proposal capture lead. KBR secured the contract win. My other duties were the development of various contract operations strategies and plans and SME and principle author for numerous proposals relating to the company’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency contracts in Russia and Ukraine.

What they like about Kellogg Brown & Root (Kbr):

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
