Daily Duties at Kellogg Brown & Root (Kbr):
Following federal acquisition regulations, I used my understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD)and/or Department of State (DoS) missions and organizations to pursue new contracts. My background in engineering, operations, maintenance, and logistics support activities provided a proactive and execution-oriented approach to business development activities when visiting new clients. To enable the company business segment to capture emerging market opportunities I used my broad strategic thinking with respect to customer needs, competitive positioning, requisite capabilities, and tactical moves. In addition, excellent written and oral communication skills where required to participate in hands-on proposals activities. I provided daily operations management (schedule and budget (P&L) management, customer relations, ethical standards, safety and health, and environmental) oversight of the company's existing contracts.
What they like about Kellogg Brown & Root (Kbr):
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
