I started out as Buyer Assistant for a team of 4 buyers for one year. Setting up data sheets for new item entry or updates for existing items. Researched and created text information on items for catalogue pages and obtained images. Updated factory price increases daily on entire product lines or individual changes. Assisted in creating promotions for buyers occasionally. Learned the process of purchasing small product lines and forecasting product needs. Purchasing entry for buyers and faxed orders into suppliers. Maintained catalogue room contacting various vendors for updated or replacement literature. Assisted occasionally in warehouse processing orders or stocking merchandise. Maintained filing systems for all buyers. Assisted in annual trade show maning the Buyers Booth providing pricing for suppliers trying to sell their displays to accounts or answering questions. Participated in annual year end inventory of warehouse merchandise.
