Daily Duties at Cargotec:
Cargotec partnered with a listed Chinese Company to start a joint venture in China. My responsibilities were to lead the integration teams of 12 to start up the company, acquired a large parcel of treasured land with coast lines to build a factory, office building and a public port to ship the equipment the Joint venture manufactures. The joint venture is to build large port equipment, cost $8Million / unit and uses its own port (although it is required to be a public port) to ship out the equipment to our global customers. My job was to have a smooth transition to build up the company and have it set up for running, as well as managing all financial related businesses, not limited to government relations, banking (financing), treasury, currency hedging setup, risk management (insurance plan and business risk management), daily financial operations, building financial talents and structure, budgeting, publishing the first annual business plan, set up sales structure, pricing model, designing ERP system (finance), implementation of internal control, accounting policies, statutory reporting in China, reporting to both parents companies, applying IFRS (European accounting standards), cost control, product cost reduction plan, raising capital, cash management, reporting to the board and CEO, board interaction, support board on decisions , international taxation, transfer pricing, overall financial management and overseeing operation.
