•Role of cytokines in Mycobacterial Lipoarabinomannan (LAM) treated murine macrophages. •Chemokines and their protective role in in vitro and in vivo model of tuberculosis. •The role of Arabinosylated LAM isolated from non-pathogenic mycobacteria in the restoration of the impaired cell mediated immune response in a murine model of tuberculosis. •The underlying mechanism of the Ara-LAM mediated protection against mycobacterial pathogenesis: Involvement of TLR-2 signaling. •Protective role of chemokines on the impaired PKC signaling and cytokine balance in Visceral Leishmaniasis. •Altered cell signaling and the role of atypical PKC and ceramide in Leishmaniasis
