Daily Duties at Hastings:

my focus was to ensure all associates were aware of all rules of conduct, policies and procedures to limit loss to an acceptable level percentage. Through audits and teaching associates the rules my stores received a percentage of 1.7% loss as appose to the company average of 2.8. I not only traveled to my 18 assigned stores, but also traveled to other regions to help reduce percentages.

What they like about Hastings:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.

Books
archie and amelie this is a nonfiction book about the history of the Astor family, and how the gilded age was created in a sense around these primary families of the northeast.
Fatal voyage of the Titanic this is a really fantastic book about the people on the titanic and the tragedy that transposed an era of America.
Island of Vice This book describes Teddy Roosevelt's first occupation as New York City's D.A. in a time of corruption and vice of the actual offices and the streets of New York.
Thomas Jefferson:The art of Power this book describes Thomas Jefferson in a light of philosopher and politician, and how he would be able to use both at will to provide the type of government he wanted to succeed in America. It truly is a book one will have trouble putting down.
