• Responsible for developing the Governor’s Executive Budget. Recommendation for the K-12 ($16 billion) budget. Recommended cost containment options that promoted sound fiscal management practices. • Monitored department fiscal controls, revenues, expenditures, and proposed appropriation adjustments for conformity with executive and legislative intent. Monitored year end book closing processes through fiscal reports and the state accounting system. • Prepared substantive analysis on policy and program issues that have fiscal implications. Prepared analysis of fiscal bills as they proceed through the legislative appropriations process. Performed special studies, by defining the problem, issue or policy, developing the design of the project, developed the data collection method, prepared the analysis, prepared recommendations and present to management. • Interacted daily with the state budget director, department executives, house and senate and fiscal agencies on issues impacting the budget. Attend legislative hearings and represent state budget director as appropriate.
