Daily Duties at Florida Department Of Education:

• Prepared the K-20 Fixed Capital Outlay Legislative Budget Request. • Prepared and calculated the Public Education Capital Outlay and Debt Service Trust Fund (PECO) revenue estimates as various times in the fiscal year. • Prepared and maintained the PECO Annual Capital Projects Plan. • Analyzed and developed legislation regarding funding for educational facilities. • Prepared and managed the unit’s budget amendments. • Supported the manager of fixed capital outlay distribution for the Classrooms for Kids and Charter School Fixed Capital Outlay programs. • Prepared and analyzed ad hoc budget and financial reports as requested from Governor’s office or internal department staff. • Tracked state and federal legislative initiatives and prepared analysis of each as it pertains to the goals of the Department. • Interacted daily with the division director, office supervisor, and other division staff. Interacted with Governor’s staff, Legislative staff when necessary and when dealing with issues impacting the Fixed Capital Outlay budget. Attended legislative hearings, internal budget meeting, and revenue estimating conferences, as appropriate.
