Daily Duties at Parsons Ouverson Stark & Guest, Pa:

Managed and organized approximately 100 personal injury matters. For each matter I interviewed the client for details of the injuries they sustained; requested copy of the accident/police report; prepared Medical Authorizations to request medical/billing records from medical providers; prepared a chart/summary of treatment provided by each medical provider, with cost and amounts paid by insurance; worked with health coverage provider for subrogation lien; prepared summary of liablitiy and demand letter to insurance adjuster for insured of wrongful party; researched fact and medical information relating to injuries sustained by client; interviewed treating doctors and witnesses to accident; prepared witnesses and expert witnesses for depositions, mediations and trials; prepared power point presentations which included fact information, photographs of injuries, deposition excerpts; future costs for additional treatment. I used Westlaw, searched medical sites for articles specific to client's injuries and possible need for future treatment. I worked on approximately 20 to 25 construction cases. I would organize and manage each file by assembling pleadings and discovery into notebooks, preparing indexes and charts; I reviewed and organized files from general contractors, architects, engineers and sub-contractors. Interviewed clients and gathered pertinent documents; worked with experts, scheduled site visits, maintained logs of photographs and inspection reports; organized all pertinent information for renovations to construction projects; set up databases to code and organize documents relating to all parties as well as subject matter. I performed legal research on Westlaw or LexisNexis to assist attorneys in preparing briefs for Motions before the Court and organized exhibits to be attached to briefs and other pleadings for hearings. Prepared power point presentations for mediations/arbitrations showing pertinent information as to construction defects including photographs and tests used to show improper installation of and defective materials. Investigated background of other parties such as general contractor, sub-contractors, architect, engineer and developer for problems/issues or negligence in prior construction projects. Prepared documentation to set up corporations and/or LLCs for approximately 50 to 75 clients through the SC Secretary of State. For all Federal Court cases I filed and tracked pleadings and other Court documents on Pacer.
