Daily Duties at Physicians Care Of Californiea:
Administered multiple self funded health plans utilizing the IPA model following Inter Qual care guidelines for inpatient hospital stays utilizing evidence based criteria to determine medical necessity of prescribed treatments, surgeries, outpatient procedures/services, inpatient admissions, DME and rehab requests in the most cost effective manner.Reviewed all inpatient admissions and hospital lengths of stay on a prior, concurrent, or retrospective basis. Reviewed paid claims to identify over utilization and trends to identify and mnage patient care costs more effectively. worked with Medical Director on difficult cases and possible denial of benefit coverage. Held monthly meetings with board of directors, fellow case managers, and medical director to discuss trends and how to manage those trends more effectively. Managed the DME and rehab authorization request for all benefit plans that the company managed
