Daily Duties at Everyday Blessings:
I supervised all aspects of running a children's residential facility, which included: looking after the welfare of the children, supervising staff, working with local agencies such as DCF, the sheriff's dept. and local donors. I made budget projections and oversaw all purchases. I created policy and procedures for the program and worked to establish strong accountability for our work. I managed and negotiated contracts for the care of the children and followed all state statutes pertaining to licensure of such a facility. I advocated for the education and health of my children on an on-going basis. I was able to create a partnership with a doctor who came to the facility to treat and examine the children. I recruited volunteers to come help with reading skills. I oversaw the kitchen crew and food purchases in accordance to nutritional guideline. I worked closely with case managers and therapists to develop treatment plans for the children which offered them the best opportunities for success.
