Daily Duties at Children’s Hospital Of Wisconsin:

Plans and executes compelling, effective communication programs to educate and engage current and potential employees, medical staff and volunteers, and to enhance corporate reputation both internally and externally. Assists in implementing employer brand and creating a unified communication system for sharing information externally and internally. Assists in the development and implementation of plans to effectively communicate regarding business goals and objectives, organizational change. Writes and produces publications, website content and other communication tools. Develops and implements communication plan for client departments. Serves as a point of contact and strategic communications counsel to senior leaders. Develops messaging and targeted communication plans. Handles the production of publications. This may include conducting editorial board meetings, assigning and supervising story and photo assignments, selecting photographs and artwork, editing copy, maintaining production schedules, serving as liaison with vendors. Writes feature stories, news releases, brochures, news articles, website copy and other printed and online/electronic materials. Conducts research and interviews to gather information used in stories and other materials. Assists in various broadcast productions. Assists with various videotaping and photography projects. Develops and implements annual communication plans for selected departments, programs and entities. Assists in developing and managing budgets to achieve annual communications objectives. Serves as liaison between the media and the health system. Proactively develops business and corporate media pitches. Coordinates with media specialists, subject matter experts and other staff as appropriate. Assists in supervising the activities of interns, freelance writers and graphic designers.
