Daily Duties at Midstate Medical Center:

Provided care for patients in both ambulatory surgery and pacu setting in a community hospital. In ambulatory surgery provided preoperative and post-operative care to patients undergoing anesthesia, or minor surgical procedures. As well prepared and recovered patients receiving sedative medication for invasive procedures such as interventional radiology, interventional pain therapies or gastro-intestinal procedures. Assisted in surgeries done with straight local anesthesia. Provided conscious sedation and monitoring of patient during the interventional pain procedures, circulated and ran the pain therapy room. Managed and assessed patients recovering from anesthesia, with appropriate and sometimes emergency interventions. Prepared patients and family for care at home. In PACU cared for patient from cradle to grave, from the healthy ASA 1 to the multisystem failure critically ASA 4 and 5. Provided safe care and monitoring from the anesthetized state to responsiveness. Responded to emergency situations without hesitation such as respiratory compromise, hypotension, hypertension and cardiac complications, and emergence delirium. Treated pain, nausea and vomiting and surgical complications is a timely manner. Continued vigilance, alertness, and anticipatory thought provided and needed at all times.
