Daily Duties at Child Abuse Listening And Mediation :
Sensitive, multi-modal treatment, in-depth intakes and assessment of children/adolescents and families affected by abuse, neglect and domestic violence. · Taught parents non-abusive forms of discipline, effective communication and self-care tactics. Provided counseling to help support and maintain new disciplinary methods. · Play therapy with children ages 3 to 12, utilizing cognitive-behavioral trauma-focused therapy sensitively tailored to the needs of each child and his or her particular trauma history. · Crisis intervention, telephone counseling and referrals for children, teens and adults. · Headed Adults Molested As Children program (AMAC), leading staff meetings, providing clinical supervision, and overseeing all administrative responsibilities for program. · Organized and co-facilitated support groups for adult and teen survivors of abuse. Several participating clients demonstrated brighter affect, lower levels of depression, and increased insight, and reported a decrease in substance use, as well as higher levels of satisfaction in interpersonal relationships. Led efforts to educate and support the wider community on abuse issues and to provide individual callers with emotional support, psycho-education and referrals for services.
