Daily Duties at Washington Athletic Club:
Haircuts and Hot Foam Shaves.C}onsulted clients first to find out what haircut style they would like, sometimes looking at pictures. Hot Foam Shaves consist of laying the client back in a comfortable postion , cleaning and preparing the face for a straight razor shave. Draping them properly and relaxing the client and finish the shave with a after shave balm massage. When I arrive at work I turn on the computer { Resort Suites } and lighting and towel warmers and prepare my station for the days work ahead. I set out my sterile equipment ie...sscissors, hairthinners and combs and brushes. I organize my electric clippers and then look at the days schedule and make reciepts for the client so when finished with the haircut they can sign and pay for their haircut. I usually cut 8 – 15 haircuts a day. Clients range from 5 years old to 85 years old..I schedule new appointments for their future haircuts , normally 3 weeks out. Our haircut price is 24 $ and a shave is 30 $...Sweeping after every client . I use towels daily and take the used towels to the laundry dept and pick up the clean ones which I fold and put away in our shop sterile cabinet. I clean the basic shelves that hold out hair products and so sell them to the client when needed...I stand 8 hours a day and make the client feel attractive and feeling good. Light conversation about current events and sometimes their family life...I answer phone calls and set up future appointments or cancelling the appointments they cannot make. I close up the shop turning off lights and towel warmers and and tidy up the station for the next days work... I have the ability to duplicate haircutes from photos brought in by client, i use little perks to please and keep repeat clients, like hot towels, straight razor shave on back of neck. i often cover shifts for other staff, i am the go to person, and can run the shop by myself.
What they like about Washington Athletic Club:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
