Daily Duties at College Hospital :

Demonstrates leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Makes effective decisions regarding patient care in compliance with Hospital Policies and Procedures, and within the scope of the State of California Nursing Practice Act. Supervises staff in manner that maximizes each staff member’s strengths and skills Serves as a clinical resource person to staff members in their daily activities. Participates in the Hospital admissions system in order to coordinate nursing care with available resources. Reviews and monitors work schedules, work hours and staffing plans of nursing personnel effecting changes as needed. Directly supports coverage of nursing staff on units as needed. Observes and documents the quality and effectiveness of care given by subordinates. Counsels employees and recommends disciplinary action as needed. Ongoing monitoring and documentation of employee compliance with designated aspects of infection control and work safety, in collaboration with the Infection Control Coordinator, Loss Control Coordinator and the Risk Manager.
