Daily Duties at Liberty Medical Supply:
Entering the bank deposits from the previous business day into the MS Access database. There were two of us that were trained to perform this function daily, though I was the one documenting the process. Some days we would each complete part of it, and some days (as I streamlined the process) one of us would do it completely. Reconciling the previous day's unposted rollforward balance to the current day's postings and deposits. here were two of us that were trained to perform this function daily, though I was the one documenting the process. Some days we would each complete part of it, and some days (as I streamlined the process) one of us would do it completely. Updating the monthly 2012 forecast to show the actualized figures for the most recently closed calendar month, and adjusting the forecast for the remaining months in 2012 based upon the latest data available. There were several of us doing this task, and we regularly alternated for cross-training purposes. This wasn't done every day, but several days every month were devoted to this process. Preparation of a weekly report that presented data by division and office location by running and compiling data from SQL-based reports. This function was exclusively mine. I originally did this every day, though the last few months of my time at Liberty, we reduced it to a once per week function. There was a more robust package done after the end of each month. Documenting and improving the efficiency of the bank reconciliation and the weekly reporting process. This process was exclusively mine, though I did train others to do it in case I was out. I originally did this every day, though the last few months of my time at Liberty, we reduced it to a once per week function. Using Oracle Essbase to import expense data and then analyzing that data to prepare preliminary expense estimates for the 2013 budget, and working with department managers to review projected expenses for the 2013 budget. There were several of us doing this task, typically each working with one or more different departmental managers. This function did not start until the last few months of my time at Liberty. Completing ad hoc reports in MS Excel and creating MS Powerpoint presentations. Everyone in our group did this, at irregular days and frequencies.
What they like about Liberty Medical Supply:
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
