Daily Duties at Ibm:
IBM's ICO was formed to clarify, deploy and oversee compliance with country import laws and regulations where supply chain operations were in place. IBM's enterprise spanned 140 countries. This global trade staff management position was critical in preventing significant fines and logistics impediments within the global supply chain. My duties included codifying laws and regulations into training packages for IBM and supplier supply chain stakeholders, conducting training on requirements and conducting objective business controls audits to ensure that adequate processes were in place to ensure compliance with country and IBM requirements. I also led IBM's collaboration with RosettaNet to deploy electronic messaging standards within the global trade compliance function.
What they like about Ibm:
You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
