Daily Duties at Unesp Universidade Estadual Paulista:
As part of the networking and security group(GRSC), responsible for managing the data, video and voice network; Responsable for the deployment and improvements of the IP Telephony proejct and its standard definitions for the entire university, the IP Telephony system has approximately 9,000 (nine Thousand) endpoints SIP and 64 (sixty four) servers; Project based on the open source IP PBX – Asterisk build with digital E1 voice cards and Linksys, Yealink IP phones, running under a Linux enviroment with several custom scripts and configuration, and managed by a PHP/MySQL self build interface; Management of computer network and devices – layers 2(two) and 3(three) switches, border and distribution routers; Creation of new solutions and its deployments with the GRSC; Security support and incidente response, network monitoring, WAN and MAN links, mainly university services such as the web portal, e-mail and DNS using tools like NAGIOS/NAGVIS, CACTI, OSSIM, MRTG and NFSEN; Management and support of Dell PowerEdge and HP Proliant servers; Manage and deploy virtualization servers: VMWARE ESXi and Linux KVM; Connectivity troubleshooting of WAN links: PTT-Metro connections, NIC.br and ANSP link providers, also support the university’s ASN and IPv4 and IPv6 distribution; Management and support of the IPv4 and IPv6 address distribution at the university, besides of making part of the university’s IPv6 Project; Write projects documentation, utilization standards, provide best practives manuals and training;
