• Conducted extensive research and gained in-depth knowledge related to semiconductor and a-Si:H and nc-Si:H thin film photovoltaic. • Maintained, operated and modified multi-chamber vacuum system with PECVD and magnetron sputter deposition capabilities. Such complex system made by MVSytems, Inc has capability of doing depositions on both rigid and roll to roll flexible substrates. • Studied materials of a-Si:H and nc-Si:H using ex-situ SE. Developed methodology of step by step mean squared error reduction to obtain the optical and structural properties of the studied materials accurately. • Applied real time spectroscopic ellipsometry (RTSE) to monitor film growth evolution and guide to optimize solar cell performance. Developed growth evolution diagrams for a-Si:H and nc-Si:H materials. • Characterized optical, electrical properties, surface morphology, and microstructure of materials by a variety of techniques i.e. Transmission and Reflection (T&R) measurements, ARTA, AFM, TEM and etc. • Used AcccuMap-SE system to do large scale panel mapping obtaining optical and structural information over the panel. Correlated such information with solar cell performance to guide solar cell optimization. • Fabricated a-Si:H and nc-Si:H solar cells. Evaluated cell performance by doing Current-Voltage (I-V) measurement and Quantum-Efficiency (QE) measurement. Currently working on developing a-Si:H/nc-Si:H tandem solar cells.
