Daily Duties at Dell Inc:
Worked across storage platforms to develop storage solutions and to define integration of various technologies. My responsibility was to determine how to turn these discrete components in an integrated way to solve customer problems in a Dell unique way. I was also responsible for sizing and planning the IDM Advanced Engineering Staff for these activities and provide detailed report to the executive team. Lead solution architect who put the concept of Fluid Data Architecture in full swing. • Developed new usage models and methods for determining the right strategy across the unified storage solutions and integration options. Met with the technical teams across all the new acquisitions and drove tiered storage direction for data management. Identified several key usage models for broad range of application support with Dell object storage solutions in self-protecting storage. • Chief architect to drive vision of common manageability across different storage platforms. Architected an end-to-end device and application discovery, automation, and policy driven orchestration layers for workflow and workload management. Managed a group of software developers to define a proof of concept that was successfully prototyped. Scoped the program and proposed $6M budget for the program. Generated complete architectural documentation and all the functional building blocks necessary for storage device management, cloud storage management, workload and performance management, content aware data management, and data movement management, interfaced through a stateless distributed model and a common API. Chief architect to lead large teams of dedicated and virtual teams to create a multi petabyte tiered storage solution for oil and gas industries. Led and drove the phase definition and architecture model necessary for ISV enablement on Dell archiving solutions. Engaged with over 20 different ISVs and analyzed their capabilities, architecture, and integration needs with storage products. Worked closely with Dell internal cloud teams in the services group and with object storage engineering team on scoping the necessary functions for enterprise cloud. Participated in Dell Field Readiness Seminar (Dell FRS) discussing IDM strategy and the DX platform with the worldwide sales teams.
