Daily Duties at Stout Roofing Company:

• Responsible for all accounting functions, including: A/P, A/R, journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Maintain the record of fixed assets. • Perform timely month-end and year-end closings. Manage the general ledger and all financial reporting. • Define, implement, and document adequate and effective internal controls. • Establish accounting and finance practices and procedures to support the growth of the business, and recommend changes as needed. • Monitor, analyze and report on the company’s financial position, and make recommendations to senior management for improved financial performance in a manner that is clear, to the point and insightful. • Provide analysis of monthly results of operations and provide “budget-to-actual” variance analysis. • Cooperate with other departments to analyze and forecast operating expenses. • Manage and train a staff of five, including the Accounting Manager. • Work closely with outside CPA firm to coordinate the timely completion of all tax and reporting compliance, including sales and use tax, state and federal income tax, property tax. Prepare necessary work papers supporting the tax returns prepared by outside CPA.
