Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch:
• Provided production support by answering SWAT calls (24/7 availability), resolving all system outages assigned, completing ad hoc requests and answering inquiries from external areas; • Supported the Reorganization system; This system receives corporate action security data from external vendors, processes domestic and foreign securities, sends notifications to retail and institutional branch offices, financial consultants and directly to the clients and accepts client elections on voluntary events. It also handles the payment process. • Facilitated reconciliation performed by users: Developed reports listing key fields from corresponding record files generated from reorganization system and from an outside source; • Developed and documented design specifications based on gathered user requirements and created and documented detailed test plans; • Generated financial reports by extracting data based on certain criteria from a DB2 database; • Changed jobs’ and programs’ schedules per request, monitored mainframe jobs, executed files uploads and down loads, created automatically download of files from production to test environment; • Modified and tested batch and on-line programs based on clients’ requirements; • Analyzed programs’ abends and corrected production batch and on-line programs as required, insuring the non-recurrence of such problems; • Developed new batch and on-line programs in order to enhance and ensure that processes were more flexible; • Evaluated and modified existing programs in order to ensure easier maintenance.
