Daily Duties at Agency For Health Care Administration:

Responsibilities included but are not limited to: Currently managing a 36 million dollar utilization review contract for all Medicaid Behavioral Health (Medicaid) providers in the State of Florida. Maintaining current knowledge of state and federal regulation related to each Behavioral Health Program; Community Behavioral Health Centers, Behavioral Health Overlay Services, Statewide Psychiatric Inpatient Program, Therapeutic Group Homes, and Targeted Case Management. Provides training, technical assistance, and supervision to Utilization Managers in each Florida Medicaid Area Office. Also, analyzes statistical data to evaluate the efficacy of each Behavioral Health Program as well as the contracted vendor. Responsibilities include planning, development, and implementing programs related to the contract, including provider handbooks to ensure that the program is operating in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Agency, and in accordance with the state and federal laws, rules and regulations. I work effectively with sister agencies, Governor’s office and State Legislators, Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to accomplish goals. I serve as the lead auditor for this contract.
